Leaky roof

The sound of dripping water in the attic alerted us to two leaks in our roof today. The house is 40+ years old. Does anyone have any idea as to what this might cost to repair? Is it neccessary to get a roofer - if so how much can we expect a consultation to cost? Can the repairs be claimed from the house insurance?

A quote should cost you nothing and yes please get a qualified roofer to inspect it and quote as there are far too many cowboys going around doing this type of work, you could end up with a worse problem with no comeback ask friends and neighbours in the area if they have had any repairs done in the past if the houses are 40+ years old then surely the odd tile has cracked or blown off in a heavy storm and they may have just the man for the job. Don't know if your insurance will cover it look in the policy booklet or ring them to find out.

Good Luck ;)
