A close relative who has a Laya PMI policy and who suffers from MS is considering going abroad for pioneering stem cell treatment (MSCT). The treatment is still considered an experimental, not yet approved evidence-based procedure. Nonetheless it is a low risk, non-invasive procedure involving the aspiration of bone marrow cells which are then grown in a laboratory for 3 months before being infused back into the patient. Cost is in the region of 20K. I was wondering what the chances were of the policy part-funding the cost or any other ideas on possible funding support? A long shot all round I guess...

if it's still an experimental treatment, doubtful. But ask anyway, they may have a prior approval process?
