Bear in mind that the insurance levy was cut by €45 for advanced plans. If the cost remains the same year on year that means that €45 euro has either absorbed the price increase or the insurer is banking the extra money.
Ideally insurers should be passing a price cut and there are plans that have fallen in price year on year. This was the case with quite a few plans with VHI. This is not the case with all plans though as it depends on the cost of the plan's offering eg. benefits may have improved year on year etc. So be sure to shop around on hia.ie and compare plans that offer similar cover with all insurers. It might be possible to get a price cut.
