Just for info, here are the new figures for unemployment rate:

It's getting very, very bad out there although the speed of job losses does seem to be slowing down.

This has been happening fairly consistently since January - rate of increase then, 11.3%, February 8.2%, March 5.7%...etc
 
Shocking figures. I notice there are way more males than females unemployed.. approx double in fact.

no surprise given what has happened in the building and manufacturing sector where most employees are mle
