Just filling out a mortgage enquiry with PTSB and they have asked us to return application with 2 cheques, one for Valuer for 130 euro (ok) and another for the Land Registry Fee for 130 euro (whats this for?) Does my solicitor not deal with the Land Registry side of things or is it for the request for deeds from my present lender ? Is it a bit steep?

ANy one had to pay this before????? Just a bit confused ...........

Thanks for all replies

On previous house purchases this was done by the Solicitor. My experience is that mortgage lenders only required / charged a fee for the Valuation of the property for the purpose of mortgage approval.

Did you not ask PTSB what the charges were? Here is a summary of the Land Registry/Registry of Deeds fees. I don't see any €130 charge in there.

ok just phoned them up (application was done online until now) ITS AN ERROR! That fee is only payable on their One Plan Equity Release plan so he didnt know why it was on my checklist when Im applying for a new mortgage. He said it would have been refunded to us had I sent it on.......mmmmmm
