I am renovating a home. Builder is lined up for 2026 and he will sub-contract the kitchen to a fitter. I must provide a kitchen design for the fitter to follow as he is just a fitter.

I know exactly what I want but need someone to create the actual design. Kitchen stores will only design based upon an order of their kitchen materials. Is it possible to get a kitchen design without purchasing a kitchen? Thank you.

You can find some kitchen planner online, particularly if you know exactly what you want. Ikea has one but the measurements of Ikea kitchen are not standard. Where will you buy the kitchen? Some places offer design and sell kitchens but not fitting. If you are in Dublin, Noyeks does that as well as PanelIing. I went to a few places selling/making before I did mine, they discuss a design. At the end, I just design mine myself.

That means you have to get the kitchen made then the builders fitter will install it. A fitter fits things. A manufacturer manufactures things.
Most if not all kitchen companies will design and make a kitchen for you even if they are not doing the installation.
If the "fitter" plans on doing the manufacturing but can't do the design then don't let him near your house. Unless you are getting hand made units which are non standard sizes they'll all be buying the carcasses from Noyeks Newmans or Cash and Carry or Ikea etc and just making the doors (or buying them as well).
