Kilcoole isn't a bad area. The new housing developments have brought more retail outlets into the village. Tesco's in Greystones is only 5 mins drive, and there is a Tesco express in the village. There's plenty of other shops too, and 3 pubs. There are only 2 trains a day each way stopping in Kilcoole, but again the DART stops in Greystones, 5 mins away. The buses (84) are roughly hourly, though they don't link up with the DART properly in Greystones. There is an express bus in the mornings and evenings from Kilcoole to Dublin, and the journey takes 75-90 mins. Access to the N11 is good, through Newtownmountkennedy to Dublin and the new Greystones Southern Cross from Dublin. There is a new secondary school open about 3 years in the village, though the primary schools could do with a bit of redevelopment. With the new developments there are a lot of young families in the area.
