ClubMan said:Traore and Dudek must run him a close second so! Admittedly Traore did clear off the line and Dudek did fluke a few saves during play and in the shootout but dear me, ropey or what...? Entertaining enough game. Not brilliant but plenty of incident. As for the ITV commentary, well, the less said the better ... Fair play to Liverpool - coming back from three down was some feat. As a neutral it was a pity it had to be settled on penalties. Not the most amazing comeback I've ever witnessed though!

I said earlier this year our name was on the cup and it was.
We knocked out Juve(Italian champions this year), Chelski(English Champions this year) Milan Fav. for cup all season and outgoing champions of Italy.
I broke a chair last night when I lept up as the second goal went in, I went up, chair went down.
There was some great football by both sides in the game. AC in the first half and Liverpool in the second. XA for example in the 2nd half played superb football, pinging around the ball will brilliant accuracy and power.ClubMan said:Great comeback. Lots of incident. But not great football from either side overall. Any neutral or objective observer could see that.
Cm I have supported Liverpool since I was a small lad, throught good times and bad(last few years, under GS etc) I have been a member of the Liverpool supporters club for many years. Yes I feel that I can say WE when I refer to LFC and am proud to do so.ClubMan said:I didn't realise that you were from Liverpool? Do you get back there for games much?
No but the wife did.ClubMan said:Did the Turkish stewards reprimand you over this?

No Just in my heart.ClubMan said:I assumed when you said "we" and "us" that you were a Scouser. .
Both actually. I have a real allegiance to LFC. I have been a fan and supporter of the club since I was knee high to a jack rabbit. I have gone over to the matches, purchased the kit, paid my membership of the official supporters club etc etc. You happen to live close to LOI club, I don't.ClubMan said:By the way, out of curiosity, do you mean "have supported" or "have been a fan of"? There is a big difference in my view. But each to their own and people are free to claim allegiances to whatever they like I suppose. I used to be a fan of Liverpool because they were one of the more successful clubs when I was a chisler but I soon grew out of that and started supporting a club with whom I had a real allegiance and involvement.

Thanks Sueellen. Though night on the nerves but great.sueellen said:Jem,
Congrats on your team's win.

This is the one thing that I totally object to with football and sudden death is even worse. I'm not a supporter at all but have been a football widow for too many years! - first Shamrock Rovers, then Pat's and, of course, Arsenal.
Surely somebody can come up with a better system rather than putting the poor guys thru the mill of penalties or sudden death?
There was also a load of Liverpool& Celtic scarves there too. with regard to the religious thing, Liverpool were very much an Irish club for a long time. And very Catholic.ClubMan said:I noticed a few combined Liverpool/Rangers scarves in the crowd on Wednesday night. Does that hark back to the days when Liverpool were supposedly the "Protestant" club on Merseyside while Everton were supposedly the "Catholic" side or something? Just wondering - religious allegiances mean nothing to me in football or real life. Linfield fully deserved their victory over Shels. Two busloads of Linfield supporters including Billy Hutchinson of the PUP were in the bars in Dalymount before and after the game and had a great time socialising down there by all accounts (wasn't there myself). Oh, and Celtic weren't robbed - they threw it away.
