JSB - working 3 days and claiming for 2 days

Does anyone know how much you are entitled to for claiming 2 days if working for 3.

What about this?

For systematic-short time workers the social welfare week is based on 5 working days. For example, if your days of work are reduced to 3 days per week, you will get Jobseeker's Benefit for the other 2 days. This means you will get two-fifths of the normal amount of Jobseeker's Benefit. A case study showing you how to calculate the length of time a systematic short time worker can get Jobseeker's Benefit is available.

My problem is I was on three days last year until September then I went full time now my boss has said that he only has three days for me. I should have been a systematic short time worker but when my claim was assessed before I was put on part-time and was taxed on my earnings. Because it is in the within 6 months is it the same claim. Thanks

It will depend on your circumstances. Answer the following questions and someone may be able to let you know:

- How many weeks did you work in 2010?
- How much money did you earn from employment in 2010?
- Are you on Systematic short-time, ie have you had your full-time hours been reduced to form your 3 day week
- Do you have a partner/spouse?
- If yes, do they work or are they in receipt of a social welfare payment in their own right?
- If your spouse/partner works, how much do they earn per week BEFORE tax/prsi?
- Do you have any children? What ages?
