JSB & Part Time Job

Hi all, need some help please! I'm currently receiving Job Seekers Benefit. On Friday evening I signed a contract for a part time job (7.5 hours per week), starting Wednesday morning.

Should I inform social straight away this morning or can I wait til I actually start the job on Wednesday morning?

Will I be entitled to my JSB payment this week (due Wednesday)?

You can inform them now, and give them your start date. You will still receive all payments up to that date.

How many days is that 7.5 hours over? If it is less than 3, and you will be looking for work for the other days, then you may be able to continue claiming a reduced payment for the days you are seeking work.
