~~JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE AND ONE PARENT FAMILY~~

Hi all,
Was just wondering if someone could help me out with this;
I am a single mum and I am on JSA since i lost my job a year ago.
Should be on JSB but for some odd reason or another my employer hadnt any stamps put up for me in the 3years i worked part time whilst still in college.
I have applied for the OPF payment and was just wondering seen as it is usually backpaid as it is a long process,will mine still be backpaid even though i am on JSA.
What i've been thinking is seen as I am currently looking for work(to no end) i am entitled to jsa and seen as it is a different payment to opf i will still be entitled to back pay,is this the case or can someone fill me in.
Many thanks in advance xx

As both payments (JSA and OFP) are means-tested, you can only get one or the other. The rates of payment are the same so there's unlikely to be any arrears.

When your OFP is awarded, you will sign off JSA.

hi andrea88 you should look up lone parent because you ar entitled to work and earn up to a certain amount while still availing of all the other benifits
