Myself & partner have been living together for two years, (Not married)
She earns a low salary of circa 23k
I earn a salary of circa 60k

Should/could I take her tax allowance?
How would this benefit me?
How would I go about this?

Thanks for your help.

Ye have to be married before you can share tax credits. In your case, if ye were to get married, you could earn €41k at the lower rate and the balance at the higher rate by sharing the tax credits. She would continue to pay the lower rate on her salary. This is joint assessment (with you as the assessable spouse) and is only available to married couples to my knowledge (although this will probably change in the next few years).
