I understand this is means tested. Is there a certain financial threshold that, once exceeded, precludes candidates from getting jobseekers allowance? Eg a lump sum of x amount

You can have up to 20k in savings and still get the full rate, any amount over that is on a sliding rate.

Next €10,000 €1 per €1,000
Next €10,000 €2 per €1,000
Balance €4 per €1,000

Thanks pudds.

And what about assets eg a house? I imagine they factor that in and it's not only savings?

So say for example you have 70k savings, this means about 130 euro. Is that the amount to be subtracted from your total dole payment?

Just as as you are on this topic, if you are having difficulty surviving on JsA, how much help can you get from family to help pay bills and loans etc? I'm sinking.
