IT Course with work experience Vs. no work experience

Friend's son had registered for course below at Carlow IT- included 6 months work experience... Higher Certificate in Science in Information Technology Support CW216

The college is now not running the course this year and have suggested...
Higher Certificate in Science in Computing (with Options in Computer Applications & Commercial Programming, Computer Networking) CW206

This is similar in content to first course but no work placement.


I see Tipperay Institute have a similar course=, but this one does have work placement 2x 3 months each summer (i guess)... TI006 Higher Cert. in Computing.

What do forum members think? The girl lives in Dublin and would be moving down to Carlow or Thurles to live Monday to Friday.

Any comments would be welcome please
 
I'd go for one with work experience. It will stand to her in the end when she is looking for jobs after she graduates. Companies often recruit their work experience students after they graduate. Its a great way of getting a foot in the door.
 
Great- any opinions on the travel up and down to Thurles v. Carlow?
