Hi all

just a quick question. Our water tank imploded and we had to get it soldered back together. It caused a bit of water damage on the wall in the hall (which is underneath the tank). We were hoping to claim on the insurance for the replacement of the tank. I rang up and was told that it's not covered in our policy and that it's quite usual for anything with water in it not to be covered e.g. radiators etc.

Have never tried to claim before so was wondering (out of interest) has anyone else come across this, or is it totally normal?

thanks

damage caused by the escape of water is covered. The actual cause of the damage, the pipe that burst, the tank that imploded is not covered.

Thanks Ravima - yes that makes sense, they said I could claim to get the wall downstairs repainted alright.
