Is there anyway to cancel an Aer Lingus flight to USA I have just booked?

I booked an Aer Lingus flight to the US this afternoon.

Shortly afterwards, I discovered a much more suitable flight with another airline.

I rang Aer Lingus on 1890 800270 and hung on for 1 1/2 hours.

It then just cut off.

I presume there is no way to cancel online?

dreadful customer service, it really is dreadful to keep a customer hanging on for 1 1/2 hours and then not answer. Try this number 01 886 8989

Thanks for those numbers.

I called the cancellations number which is their Head Office number and got diverted back to the line on which I was waiting 1 1/2 hours.

I will try again tomorrow morning.

Isn't there a physical office you can call into and do the deed with calls, etc, being their expense?
 
OK, Aer Lingus has redeemed itself.

The phone booking opened at 8 am this morning and they answered after 10 minutes.

They cancelled both flights for me and booked the one I wanted without charging me extra for non online bidding.

He also advised me on seat selection which I would not have known about.

I had not realised that if I want to fly into one airport and home from another, there is a multi-city option

He also told me, which I now know, that on transatlantic flights, return flights are cheaper than single flights. They are the same within Europe apparently.

When I realised that I could cancel my Aer Lingus flight, I booked a Lufthansa flight.

I was able to cancel that online in exactly 2 minutes. No need to call anyone.

I've never had a problem with Aer Lingus customer service. I find them top notch. Very helpful. They changed a flight time on some xmas flights and then as that didn't suit me I changed days etc and it was no bother for them to sort it all out for me, and it's not the first time. I certainly also prefer to fly with then rather than Ryanair in times of year when weather is notorious. I like knowing that I won't be deserted and on my own as has happened to me a couple of times with Ryanair.

I also like the new friendlier Ryanair. Mega improvement.

About call lines. Outside of normal business hours, I mean very late evening, it's best to wait until the morning when the call center opens up.
