It's hosted, not standalone. Why should they give away the source code? There are obvious monetisation opportunities, down the road, which they deserve if they are putting in effort to solve a real problem.
@CharlieMac I guess I just didn't want to be promoting it directly and also the link has changed once or twice during development so its easier to just DM people if they're interested.
Thanks all DMs sent now. The link to the website is https://www.capitalgains.ie if you want to get notified when we release. If you'd like to test it out just DM me or post here thanks
Hi all, sent out all of the invites now. We're at a bit of a crossroads currently with the platform in that its up and running and works great (just need to add stock split functionality) but we're trying to guage interested in the market.
It seems there's a good few people interested in the platform but we don't get many responses from people who try it out and most people seem to be happy to use it if its free, but aren't too interested if it was a small yearly fee - something similar to Koinly basically.
Anyone have any feedback they'd like to share on the topic in general?
Hope you get enough interest to keep it going.
I've tried it and found it very good. I'd be happy to pay a yearly fee to use it. It would certainly help simplify tax returns
Thanks. Unfortunately it requires a small financial investment into it to get it "production ready" but the majority of people are just not responding after using it and those who do generally say "its useful but I'm not sure I'd pay for it" so its looking like it won't continue
