Is there a problem with my Fridge/Freezer?

I recently moved into rented accomodation, which has a Zanussi fridge freezer with one of those strips on the shelves that reads too warm if it is. After the first week it constantly said too warm so we contacted the landlord who got an electrician out who apparently said it's fine it just takes a while for the temp to drop back down after the door has been opened.

I wasn't convinced and bought a fridge thermometer; on Sunday the fridge was packed full due to a big shop and the temp read 10 deg all day. It's turned up to the max 6 and the freezer now has inches of ice in it. We called the landlord again who said it's fine and if we want it checked again we've to pay for it.

Is this fair or am I over reacting? We weren't there when the electrician called out so I only have her word for it. I'm thinking of calling out a guy from Zanussi to look at it.
 
My mother has one of those Fridge/ Freezers, the strip always says warm once you open the door but her's does hold the temperature. I'm sure my Mums has two seperate switches to change the temperatures, one for the fridge one for the freezer, could explain why your freezer is over freezing, you may have turned up the wrong dial, just an idea.
 
I think that I heard somewhere that for a fridge to operate at it's optimal capacity it should not be overfilled, so as to allow the air to circulate. Maybe this has a small part to do with the temperature being high on Sunday. Still the fridge should not be warm as this defeats it's purpose and you may get sick from the food which needs to be kept cool. Maybe this is something you could point out to your landlord.
 
10 degrees is too warm for a fridge and there should not be inches of ice in the freezer when was the freezer last defrosted ? is the freezer door making a good seal? if its not that could cause a build up of ice
 
There only seems to be one dial on it, I don't think the f/f wasn't defrosted when we moved in might have a go at it this weekend.
 
Be sure when defrosting not to use any sharp instrument to remove the ice as it can cause damage that cannot be repaired
