Is separate married assessment the best way for 1 part-timer and 1 full timer?

My husband earns 61,000 and I work part time and earn 24,000 per annum. According to the various threads, we should choose to do a joint assessment. But when I do the calcs with the Sage calculator it would seem we would be better off assessed separately. Plus I seem to recall a post by Clubman (I think) saying that if one partner is working full time and the other is part time it would be better to do a separate married assessment - transferring credits. I've looked at the Revenue site and I'm still none the wiser. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks

I don't think it should make any difference at all at these, or indeed any, income levels.
