We're applying for a mortgage, and bank wants P60's over last number of years.
One of these years I was on state maternity benefit for 6 months, as employers wouldn't pay mat leave. Therefore half of the year I was on my normal income, and the second half it was mat benefit.
My question is do the banks take your state mat leave income into account?
I always thought that SW benefits were not considered as part of mortgage application, but if they don't take mat benefit into account, surely this is discrimination?
