I'm looking into selling my house at present. Is it quicker/more straightforward to use the same solicitor that I purchased the house through eight years ago than to go to a different solicitor? I'm thinking that they would have all the house details on file anyway which would make things easier. If I were to go with a different solictor will they just be requesting all the files from the orignal solicitor anyway. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to expedite/simplify the process. I spoke to a solicitor some time back who said there would be a six week delay to get documentation. Is this the norm? I'm not familiar with the selling conveyencing process.
