Is it ok to give passport/utility bill details for setting up western union online account profile

Hi
I need to setup a western union account
Doing this online
As part of the setup process its asking me to create a profile and as part of that its asking me to give my Passport or Driving License number and details in terms of issue and expiry date and a utility bill or bank statement account number

I bit reluctant to give this information from security viewpoint and data privacy and could this information be used/sold on and wondering have others got western union online accounts and is it safe providing these details

I presume they are requesting these details for money laundering purposes. If you want to open an account with any financial institution in Ireland, a proof of ID and address are standard information requests.

Exactly. These are money laundering requiements for all institutions who handle financial transactions on behalf of clients.
