Just got my solicitors bill for conveyencing etc which was as expected except that there was a large lump added on as the bill of the banks solicitor too. I had no idea I was paying the banks solicitor. Is this normal?
I assume this was an investment or a commercial transaction. Yes it is necessary for you to pay the banks solicitor but this would have been part of the initial contract sent to you by your bank so you should have been aware of this.
I have still not agreed any kind of a settlement with the bank but at this point they have agreed to pay their own costs and some of mine but I am not dealing. I may be nuts but there is no way I am signing anything less than a deal I can live with.
