Is it compulsory for a cyclist use a cycle lane or a cycle path?

I think saying its too dangerous to cycle on the road and only giving an example of cyclist rule braking is pretty clear narrative. Intentional or not.

He is totally entitled to his opinion and I respect that. My opinion is no more valid than anyone else's. Certainly have my own bias.

As a counter to that looking at the data for all road users the greater hot spots in the stats are not with cyclists. But it's hard to see because it's the media habit to lump cyclist data with other stats to inflate the figures.

I'll reiterate that this nit picking and even interpretation of the cycle lane legislation serves what purpose. Give cyclists a wide berth.

I cycle in Dublin quite a lot and in my experience it's far safer than it was 30 years ago and motorists are way more considerate of cyclists.
