Is heating oil covered in home insurance?

Hi, I haven't got my policy details at the moment to contact my insurance company. I'm just wondering is home heating oil normally covered by your house insurance?
We had the lovely surprise during the week of having half a tank of ours robber :(
 
Not the first time I've heard of such an incident this year. A by-product of increasing oil prices, it would appear. :mad:

A quick glance at my own Hibernian home policy conditions doesn't mention oil, which would suggest by omission that it is covered.

Before claiming, you would need to check the value of oil, your policy excess and no claims bonus (if applicable). Some smaller claims aren't worth making.
 
Thanks, yeah I have a feeling it might not be worth it. I'll check out our excess etc later.
 
I'm with RSA through BOI.

Does cover loss of oil following accidental damage to heating installation Can't see anything referring to theft.

But my system is natural gas!
