Even the FG MEP's including Brian Hayes signed it. If only their man was Minister of Finance...oh,wait!

Run with the fox and hunt with the hound

Thanks Brendan,

I shudder to think what level of carefully crafted non speak will make up his reply but the fact that it is unanimous and includes all FG MEPs is highly significant.
It reinforces your belief that the ball game has suddenly changed and Noonan has had to surrender a lot of his authority in the new regime.
In striving for a better and fairer deal for everyone with debt to Irish banks, that is no bad thing.

Isn’t this an incredible situation in that all of our MEPs feel that they have to appeal to the ECB in order to force our own central bank to take action on SVRs?

Despite several meetings with the Finance Minister, the attitude of central bank hasn’t changed.

If it does not want further powers imposed on it why does the central bank not restore some shred of credibility to its customer service role and investigate and take action of its own volition?

Perhaps it does not take its customer service role seriously enough?

If not, then perhaps that part of its function should be removed.
