1,943 complaints not upheld
973 complaints upheld about flight cancellations
677 complaints upheld about long delays
76 complaints upheld on other issues
1,726 complaints upheld in total

€1.2m in compensation awarded
€360k in refunds

Aer Lingus accounted for 33% of complaints upheld (Despite over 500 flights being cancelled due to industrial action.)
Ryanair 31% of complaints upheld

The Irish Aviation Authority IAA is a commercial State-sponsored body. The vast majority of revenue is generated from charging aircraft that use Irish-controlled airspace. The IAA receives no Government funding.

The number of complaints submitted in 2024 was down 30% in comparison to the 2023 complaint levels. That's a significant drop, I wonder if there's any reason.

The last time I used Ryanair’s online flight delay refund form (August 2022) it timed out repeatedly until I had no option but to go to the IAA.

Maybe that’s changed.
