Iphone: can received texts be forwarded?

Hi, have recently purchased my iphone. Wonderful toy and am just finding my way around it. Can anyone answer this for me - when I receive a text message, can it be forwarded to another phone? Cannot see how it would be done. They told me in the shop that the iphone doesnt do picture messaging, but am just trying to figure out how to forward my texts.
 
hey there i work in the carphone warehouse and to add the endless list of down point to the iPhone you cant forward messages!! sorry
 
Ok, thanks for that. Am only just getting used to it. I know it cant picture message, but i never did that anyway.

What other down sides are there?
 
You can install an application called iSMS that allows you to forward text messages (as well all other functions not in the standard sms function). iSMS does not have tread merging that is on the normal sms function but works pretty much like the standard texting functions on a nokia phone.

Try it out and see if you like it. I only use it if I need to forward a message or use a smiley face, etc.

Bluefish, where do i get iSMS? Is it something i download? What is tread merging? I dont mind not having smiley faces, etc., but i do miss the text forwarding.
 
Do you have an unlocked iphone with installer?
Otherwise you cant install 3rd party software
