Investment for kids ?

Hi

Ok so what I would like to do is invest some money in the share market (some sort of managed fund) for my godson (he is only 2 at the moment).

I feel it will sever him better than putting money in a bank account and it get charged fee's and losing out to inflation.

Also would there be a tax insensitive to invest/put money away for kids etc ? For the more so that me.

I would like to know if anyone has done this or know if it can be done and how?

Or where should I start to look for the info.
