Investing in Dollars

Hello All

Could someone advise me if it is worthwhile buying €20000 worth of dollars and if i can keep it in an irish bank in a dollar account and then change it back to Euro if and when the dollar gains in value.

Is this too simple a view or am i missing something

Is this just for speculation or do you have a particular reason to hold the dollars? If you are just looking to take a gamble on the $ then you are probably best going with a spread betting company as you would be able to do the same trade without using anywhere close to the full $20,000
