Hi,

I am putting two old Alpha computer servers on eBay, and would like to give the option of postage From Dublin to the UK and mainland europe, most probably Germany / France / Italy, as well as in Ireland and the USA. The servers weigh 16kg.

Anyone know of a courier company that could satisfy these requires at a reasonable cost? I have quotes from TNT, DHL, UPS and they are all around €400 for Europe and the US. How can this be when Amazon can deliver for free?????
 
try DPD. We send stuff from work to the UK. I dont know how much it costs, but I think they are pretty reasonable.
 
You are making the common error of getting a quote from an express courier company rather than a parcel delivery service.

As above DPD. Also GLS (they have parcel shops) and also Anpost.

As for Amazon - volume = low price. I can ship 20kg to France for just over €12 and have it delivered within 3days with dpd - and I wouldn't have huge volume. Within Ireland its under €4 for next day via an post - walk into a post office and it will be €20+
