Hi

I am looking for an interior designer to help me finish off my dining/living area of my new build.....
the colours are on the walls and i have the ding suite and sofa but im finding it difficult to finish off the fabrics/curtains/lighting/pictures etc. i already purchased blinds which i think ive made a mistake on and i just dont want to ruin the rest of the rooms...
anyone have any advice on a good designer bearing in mind my budget is very tight. anyone know roughly how much it would be for one large room?

Hi there,

Try Fiona Owens - she's a qualified Interior Designer who also runs evening course in Interior Design and specialises in home interiors: [email protected].

You could try Amber Cleary 087 0542908 . I used her on my home about a year ago and found her very good. I got a lot of my furniture and lighting at a very good price because of her. She was able to get me good discount and I think in the end it paid for her services. I would definitely recommend you get an interior designer it just saves so much hassle and confusion when choosing colour schemes etc.

Re: Interior Designer Reccommendation

A few years back I needed to get curtains for living, dining and bedrooms. I had used an interior designer previously but felt this job might be a bit too small. So I pulled out the Golden Pages and looked through the curtain suppliers list. I'm pretty sure the company I called was Curtain Tailors. I know I have their details at home so I will confirm later.

Anyhow, they came to my home with a vanload of sample fabrics that they brought into the house so I could see a large selection of samples in situ. That way I knew exactly how something would look with my existing colours, furniture etc. They took the required measurements and made up the curtains, came back and fitted them. Everything was perfect. Don't remember the cost but I was more than happy. They also made some cushion covers for me.

There was no separate charge for the visit and selection process. I guess that's all covered in their price. Their website is http://www.curtaintailors.com/

I know they don't do lights and pictures but they might be able to solve your curtain needs.

BTW, I have absolutely no connection with them.
