Interesting SIA Details in the Finance Bill

Nah, it's pretty straightforward for the investor. That's the whole point. Questions like "Can you invest in exchange-traded commodities?" and "What happens if I move to Otherland?" are wholly irrelevant to 99.99% of potential investors. The questions that matter to most people, like "When will it start?" and "How much can I contribute?" have clear and mostly very simple answers.

Worth thinking a bit about how this plays out.
I guess that's the case with any investment wrapper. You'll hear plenty of the same thoughts about a UK ISA or a Swedish ISK if you move abroad. It's also a minority interest - if you're thinking of becoming non-resident in Ireland, you have a lot of affairs to get in order.
It's certainly not an ALDI scheme.

Way to complicated.
I think it's incredibly simple and straightforward. Limiting the pool of investments that count under the scheme to the major and pretty mainstream types is very sensible - this is for retail investors, and the structure lets them get exposure to sources of major wealth creation in recent decades but blocks off people coming with "bespoke opportunities" that often end in tears.
