Insuring a second car on limited mileage policy

Hi, I currently own two cars, one I am trying to sell and the other is my new daily commuter car. Ideally I'd like to hold onto my old car for weekend driving (maybe 3,000 miles per year). Does anybody know of an insurance company that will insure me on a 'second car limited driving' policy for reasonable money. The car is a 1996 2 litre sports coupe, so it's too young to get classic car insurance. At the moment a normal comprehensive policy would set me back about €1,200 which is way too extravagant for a weekend car. Any help would be appreciated. I'm currently with FBD who simply say, take out a second insurance policy which is crazy. I am the only driver named on my commuter car and I would be the only named driver on the weekend car too. Any help would be appreciated.

Try St. Paul or ARB through a broker.

2 policies is crazy. As the only pertson insured you can only drive 1 car at a time.

But both cars are in danger of being stolen or damaged at the same time, hence 2 policies.
