Insurance- from shop type operation (catering) to contractor- double premium

hospitality type business and now closed. Operating as a contractor type arrangement only and only servicing customers with advance orders- no 'walk in'.

Insurance was previously with a 'shop' type policy - c. 600 euro.
Now quotes for public liability/ staff- 1300 euro

any advice/ suggestions

Maybe this is normal premium
 
I don't know exactly what are doing obviously, have you tried Pike insurance? I found them good for a small food related business.
 
Premiums would normally be the other way around (higher premium for cafe type business than stand alone liability). Would def shop around. There are a number of insurers that can quote for this type of risk now.
