    Hi Mary right,

    Welcome to AAM. In order to be covered whilst abroad and to avoid waiting times on return, the recommended policy is called
    VHI International. Details in the following link;

    https://www.vhi.ie/travel-insurance...VgrHtCh1XPQ7GEAAYASAAEgKr8fD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

    https://www.vhi.ie/pdf/ipid/IPID_IntlLvl1_V1_23Feb2018.pdf

    You just keep your Laya policy upto your travelling date. VHI International is a health insurance policy which covers hospital treatment and medical expenses when working or travelling abroad. You avoid serving waiting times for health insurance on your return.
