Insulation and plaster slabs

Hi

Is it possible to put up insulation on a wall (say 100mm) and then separately attach a plasterboard slab to the insulation? Alternatively does anyone know were it is possible to get cheap 100mm insulation with the plasterboard attached?
 
I found the price of 25mm insulated plaster board to be nearly the same price as plaster board, you could then buy seconds at 75mm and put them in a wooden frame nailed to the wall, although the frameing will set you back you may be better to by thick insulated plaster board.
 
I have been given some 100mm foil backed (both sides) insulation. I just wondered if it is possible to fix this to the wall and then fix a plaster slab board to this? Would it hold?

If not I would have to buy the 112.5mm insulation with the plaster slab already fixed.
