Insulating internal stud partitions??

Is this common or best practice??

Will insulate a few with Rockwool for its sound insulation qualities. Have heard that insulating internal stud partitions only gives sound insulation, that it is not effective/worth it from a heat point of view.

Any views on this??

I suppose the slabs would have good heat insulation anyway but I would deffo think about it for the sound insulation. the house I am in now doesn't have it and you can't fart but it will be heard in the next room

BTW you can get slabs now that already have the insulation on the back but I'm but I'm not sure they are for use on internal partitons.

Was asking someone about them and he said that alot of people are not putting any insulation in the cavity but fixing these babies to the inside of the inner leaf.

internal insulation

For sound insulation on interior walls I would use rather a second or third layer of plaster board .The rock wool has some sound insulation properties but not much mass and therefore its insulation is better used in places where the heat and cold needs to be separated.
