I am looking for an insulated cover for a yellow Calor gas bottle to prevent gas from freezing at temperatures below -2degrees.I have put a plastic cover over the regulator to try and keep water off it thereby trying to minimising freezing of regulator. Any suggestions? Thanks

I don’t think yellow (butane) cylinders are intended to be left outside, as you say the boiling point of butane is only -2 degrees. Would it be possible to switch to propane (red/grey cylinders) which has a boiling point around -40 degrees? It could be as simple as changing the regulator, which might cost similar to a cover.

Gas bottles cool as the gas in them is used (evaporates), so in cold weather insulating an outside bottle would just make it more lightly to freeze.
You would need a insulation system with built in heating, but as above, there are better ways to achieve the same result.

You could build a rudimentary wooden box around it and insulate that with widely available fibre glass.
