hi all, i work for the dept of justice and was put out injured in november and i am not going to be able to reture to work for months to come. i know i am entitled to componsation through the componsation acts in about 3 years but at the moment i am on min wages and i am wondering am i entitled to any benifits?? my work is claiming occupations injury benifit from social welfare sservices to componsate my wages. please give me an answer..
 
occupational Injury Benefit is your entitlement from Sw and you are already getting this.
 
ring the social welfare yourself, they are obliged to tell you your entitlements, have you any kind of income protection, which pays you a benifit if you are out sick. you need to start making phone calls and asking for help. does your dept have a welfare officer they are usually very good at this
 
Other than OIB you may be entitled to a disablement benefit award which is a percentage based pension that is calculated on the loss of faculty compared to a person of your age etc.

Your other entitlement is to recoup the costs of medical care. You can claim full refunds of GP fees and medication and/or supplies that are related to your condition.

It also includes travel expenses to and from all places of treatment relating to your condition. Travel is normally calculated on a mileage basis, but it does include tolls, parking, buses, and taxies if necessary.

You can receive full refunds of private medical treatment that is prescribed in so far as those services are not or have not been made available under the Health Acts.
