Information about ownership of house.

Hi, Does anybody know if it is possible to find out who actually owns a house. My husbands family never kept in touch and his father died a couple of years ago and a brother and his wife are living there. The house is in a local authority area.

Bridget, contact the land registry offices either in Dublin or Waterford [depends on the county] and they will help you. If you can point it out on a map you can just call in and give roughly €7 and you get the map of the property and all details. You would be surprised of the amount of properties that are not registered.
