Its the basic essentials that have gone up the most, potatoes, bread, eggs etc. Potatoes have almost doubled in the last 5 years and looks like more rises due to shortages and drought all over europe this year. Also the ukraine war with russia targetting ukrainian grain ships in black sea has hit supplies of wheat into world markets. Also both russia and ukraine have difficulty even harvesting crops due to labour shortages. The wheat price stabilised for years after start of the war but now its going to rise again due to the drought in europe aswell. The rise in fertilizer prices and cuts in usage also hit crop yields. Therefore all the basic foodstuffs have alot more inflation to go.
