In last Friday's Irish Times (Business This Week) in an article penned by Fiona Reddan, the impression was given that the Indexed Europe Fund (which tracks the Eurostoxx 50) was available to private investors at an annual management fee of 0.4 %.

I contacted Irish Life this morning and they confirmed for me that this is not correct. The charge of 0.4 % is an institutional charge and does not apply to private investors.

What a pity!

Vanguard (the US index fund manager) have recently launched a FTSE 100 tracker that only charges 0.15%. As far as I know they plan to roll out a number of pan-European trackers. These, hopefully, will become the benchmark for pricing trackers in Europe.
