Hi,

sure this must get asked all of the time. Where or to whom do you go to get independent financial advice. Who can you turn to when you want to ask someone to take a snapshot of your life and money and give you feedback and direction as to what type of things you should be loking/thinking about?

Thanks,

For completely independent advice you may want to consult with an Authorised Advisor who is not restricted in terms of what products they can recommend - ideally on the basis of a fixed fee agreed up front for the work to be done. An AA would generally be expected to be more independent than an RIAPI/multi-agency intermediary and definitely more so that a tied agent (basically a sales person for a financial institution). IFSRA can give you a list of all classes of regulated intermediary (AA, RIAPI, tied agents) on request.
