Independent Assessor for Home Insurance

Just asking for peoples experiences with an assessor who takes the claim on your behalf to the Insurance companies? The one I have been speaking with asks for 10% of any settlement. I have a leak under the ground floor on our very old heating system.

could you not take the claim yourself?

you have property damaged by escape of water. all resluting damage should be covered, but the cost of locating the leak and its repair will not be.

presumably, your floor coverings are damages, may need replacing and there may be some dehumidifying needed in the house. hire of a dehumidifier would be covered.
