Motor Increase in quotes based on 3rd Party Claim

I've been getting quotes for my girlfriend and when I add myself as a named driver I get a quote lower than her on her own. When I add a claim I made against a 3rd Party that was settled the quote goes up €300. How can this be the case when the claim was against a 3rd party and not my fault? Surely insurance companies can't be penalising people for being in an accident caused by someone else?
 
It's ok, the wording on the site was misleading. No need to register a claim against a 3rd party as it has no affect so back to normal quotes :)
