Income Tax return questions

I just looked at my Preliminary End of Year Statement on Revenue's My Account website for the last few years, and it turns out that I overpaid tax by about €1,000 each year for the past four years. I could do with that cash asap:

1. Can I go ahead and file an Income Tax Return to collect this overpayment (I have no other income to declare btw), and later go back and do the Medical Receipts part? Or is it one-go only? (We moved house recently so my files are all over the place including the folders with the receipts.)

2. For the Medical receipts: instead of uploading the receipt itself on the Receipts Tracker section of the Revenue My Account service, can I instead upload the pdf I have from my Health Insurance provider for when I made the claim - it documents the amount charged, and the amount paid by the insurance?

Thank you. That makes sense alright. It spares me having to look for those receipts.
I wonder if the Health Insurance provider document will satisfy Revenue instead of a photo of the actual receipt...

You dont need to upload the receipts at all to claim, I never do, but you must then retain them in case ever asked for them. So if you know yourself how much they are and know you have to receipts to prove it once you locate them then just enter that total in the return.

I was recently asked to upload receipts for a tax relief claim. I had already sent my Laya record for the year, my chemists record of prescription charges for the year and med 1? Forms for non routine dental.

I think Stitcher's comment above answers my question: the Laya record is not enough (even though it could only have been generated based on photos of the actual receipts). Looks like Revenue will need photos of the receipts.
