I've just been made redundant from my PRSI employee job. I'm in the process of setting up a new business, and the plan always was to leave the job when I could pay myself a salary. The new business is a limited company, and my husband (who is also full time employed) and I are the directors. But it's nowhere near a stage where I can pay myself a salary and I need to sign on, or we're in serious trouble. Our mortgage alone will eat up my husbands entire wage pack and even with the child benefit, there'll be nothing left. I've spoken to Citizens information who were of no help at all because of the "unusual" circumstances. Can anyone here advise me?
