Import VAT

The company that I work for imports items from the US for medical research from time to time.

Customs have told me that these items are exempt from VAT.

FedEx have charged us VAT, does anyone know how we claim this back?

Is your company VAT registered? If so, then they can claim it back in thier vat returns as an imput credit
