Can I ask why you would suggest this ?I would suggest that when making your claim, state that you have ceased work for health reasons rather than retirement.
You should be entitled no matter why you ceased employment at age 65.Can I ask why you would suggest this ?
Provided you qualified for BP 65 based on class A Prsi you will get credits for the year.S class,
Perhaps a stupid question but would a person claiming this year of Benefit Payment accumulate PRSI contributions?
Just trying to understand how this would effect TCA if one was not at 2080 contributions at age 65.
Hopefully they won't.I'd guess politicians wouldn't go near that!
Is it likely that the BP65 payment will be removed given that 65 can no longer be a compulsory retirement age?
Wasn't it introduced to cater for people who were forced to retire at 65 by their employer? That's no longer an issue, so BP65 has been rendered 'redundant' (excuse the pun)
I'd guess politicians wouldn't go near that!
What sort of benefits do you mean? If you mean social welfare benefits then they are based on PRSI qualification criteria. Unlike SW allowances and other payments which may be means tested. My concern is whether any benefits I might get would be means tested.
Well, that's a benefit so subject to PRSI qualification criteria as explained by @S class several times in different threads and isn't means tested. Whether or not that changes in the next few years is unknown.I mean whatever payment you can claim for thr year age 65 to 66 when you get your pension
The existing Jobseekers Benefit scheme will continue to run alongside the new Pay Related Jobseekers scheme. From 31st March 25 the new "Jobseeker's Pay-Related Benefit" commences and replaces JSB.
I don't think so - I think that you need a certain number of paid contributions as you say.Because I paid prsi at class S over the years on my private pension would I be entitled to claim the state payment for 65 year olds
So I’m thinking 3 of us might be out, while I could battle it I’m not inclined to at the moment, still 3 years away so I might change my mind. My husband will be still working.
